What are these version numbers, how can I check them and how can I update what is obsolete?

Open General is a framework consisting of several packages. After the first installation, when you should run the complete installer, these packages can be updated separately. You can find each of them on this page.

• The most important package is the “Core Pack” containing the executable with a few mandatory system and GUI files. When the game is updated, you should download & update this package. The version number of the executable is announced on Luis’ site, on our Facebook page, and on OG Forums too (see Links for their actual URL).
• “Icon Pack” contains the official icons (OpenIcons.dat), their desccriptions (OpenIcons.csv) and the icon replacements (OpenIcons.keep). It’s recommended to use the latest package in order to play the newest campaigns without any flaws. The modification date of this package can be considered as a version number.
• “Icon Pack” contains the official graphics, music files, sound effects and videos. This package is rarely updated, the modification date of this package can be considered as a version number.
• “Official Efiles” (sometimes also called “Repo[sitory] Efiles”) contains all the official equipment files and their campaigns. Both the equipment files and the campaigns can have their own version numbers, and they are announced on OG Forums when they are updated. The Efiles can be downloaded separately too from this page. Though the modification date is not a version number of the Efiles, it can help to find the latest updates.
• “Suite Pack” contains the game editor, its version number is announced on Luis’ site, and on OG Forums too.

There are also special packages like CC Pack and PG2 Pack, what aren’t part of the complete installler, and they aren’t modified frequently either, their modification dates can be considered as version numbers.

When you start OpenGen, before loading anything, you can see the start screen, which shows the most important version numbers, if you move your mouse pointer above the “Credits” button (the second one on the right, marked with a red circle on the screenshot):

The version number of the game (blue line) can be seen in the tooltipe above the buttons. This version number is also printed on the top of the “Settings” panel.

The name and version number (green line) of the selected Efile is written below the buttons.

If any of your packages were obsolete, you should download the related zip files from this site, and unpack them into the main local folder of OpenGen where you installed the game previously. It’s not necessary to run the self-exgtracting complete installer again and again after the first installation, however, you must install this All-in-One installer before you can use the individual update files.
