The P-38 Recon flight of the Allies flew over the area. The bridge had been blown, the Germans were all over the place and a line of over 20 King Tiger tanks were approaching to set up on the far side. The Air Boys would be called in and the Germans/Civilians would be under the bombs in Arnhem. This kind of action at the End of the Game of course wrecked havoic on American popularity. City after City had been destroyed in France when needed and thousands of Civilians died there. The same in Italy. The bombs did not care whether Friend of Foe. The People sure did though when Americans started to come through. But what could the Allies do, the War had to be fought and the Bombers at times were the only answer to the Germans. If the Bombers didn't do their job then the Ground troops payed too much in blood, especially against the Panzers. The Bombers had to fly, they had to bomb and even Allies had to lose their civilians or the War would never End. Of course those Civilians cry'd "How many American Civilians have died if you do not count Pearl". Few, very Few.
