Fighters and Bombers of the 'Eighth did damage to the Panzer Lehr Divison but still not enough that the Armor could just run wild plus the Heavy German Flak guns caused extensive damage to the 'Flyboys. In the Air the Luftwaffe made a strong showing too with its ME 410 Heavy Fighter units that were experienced from the conflict on the Eastern Front, the 'Yanks were given a Good Run for their money in the Blue over France. The Armor for a couple of weeks had to be cautious of its movement as well as its very existence. Finally enough Heavy Artillery batteries arrived from Brit XXX Corps to remove the strong AA in the area then Panzer 'Meyer make the smart choice and pulled His Panther and King Tigers out of the Blast Zone the English were laying down but not before losing a quarter of His Armor. Later Panzer Lehr was caught in the Falaise gap and took another pounding from Air and Ground in the end leaving 'Meyer commanding less than 15 Armored vehicles. What had once been a Top Armor unit was all but gone. So the Americans gassed up and got rolling again. The German War machine was 1st Class but still attrition was gaining the upperhand in the fighting on both the West and East.
