And then the Bombers of the Americans came. Things looked Good from the German point of view til then. The Panzers had done a marvelous job, the soldiers of the Whermacht had held their ground and any major assault had been stopped cold in its tracks by artillery support. Then the Bombers came. Once the Bombers left no more German Army. Everything destroyed or in a state of shock. Men who survived only wanted one thing, to surrender. Never again to face the awesome power that flew overhead. And Rome burning, Nero could not compare with what the Americans could do. The Pope shed tears for the Treasures, the people, the World. Airpower was at the forefront of this War and the Americans used it for all it was worth. In Berlin even Hitler was impressed. A change in Policy, the 'Jets' would have to be priority #1 even if the engines didn't last after 45 hours. But with a possible Invasion on the Coast of France soon could enough Jets be in the Hands of the Luftwaffe. And Pilots experienced enough, the 'East' would have to be Bled. The Invasion could not succeed or the War would be lost.
