Al-Faw, Southern Iraq, Persian Gulf, April, 1988.

[Speech with a representative from Saddam in your HQ at Basra] ...Yes commander, Saddam is very pleased with your frontier vigilance in the past few years. He also sends from Baghdad his best wishes and a luxurious Mercedes Benz as a personal gift. He reminds you to attend to the next Ba'ath party's council. I should remind you our beloved leader continues expecting only the best from his army officers.

Well, you know the Al-Faw peninsula is still under Iranian control. What Saddam wants is to clear Al-Faw, and to re-capture at any cost our connection with the Persian Gulf. That's why Baghdad has sent special chemical weapons support to the battlefield.

As you know, your secondary task is to keep our siege on Abadan too... Let's see if Khomeini still refuses to sign an end to this war after he sees his boys suffer another defeat.

* Tip *: Even during the Cold War era, tanks were not invincible units.
