AUGUST 31, 1939

You have been placed in command of Eisenbahn-Panzerzug 3 and assigned to Guderian's XIX Army Corps, whose task is to attack across the base of the Polish Corridor and reach the Vistula as quickly as possible.

"Herr Captain, you have the honour of striking the first blow against the Polish aggressors. In the early hours of September the 1st you will move across the border 30 minutes ahead of our artillery barrage, pretending to be an actual scheduled passenger train, and sieze and hold the railway station at Koenitz - that the Poles call Chojnice. Stealth and boldness are important; we need the railway facilities at Koenitz captured intact."
