May 8th,1944 The Allies were closing in on Rome. The Italian Army was ready to fold. In the Vatican the Pope pleaded for an 'Open City' to save the Treasures of time. German Field Marshall 'Von Arnim contacted Hitler. The 'Fuehrer's response "forget the Italians and their precious treasures, they have failed Us besides only German treasures have value. In the Sand, on the Seas and in the Air the Italians have failed. If the 'Great Legions' had been a quarter of the fighting value of the Wehrmacht We would have the Soviets in Our hands now but their throwing away their guns and running away at the first sight of Russian tanks cost Us Stalingrad and numerous other battles with the Soviets. The War was ours to Win, there and then but Our Allies have hurt Us. We will still win but the Allies of Ours have to go. No Open City, for every bomb or bullet that destroys a treasure lets the Wehrmacht fight another Day and We will bleed the Allies to Death in the End. Dam the Pope, Him and His 'Black Crows', No Open City".
