Tiger Commander Preiss to his driver -- "I told you Otto and you didn't listen. Now what we going to do, we are not going to fix a tread with the enemy coming and the flyers overhead. Grab your small arms and tell the rest of the crew because of your not paying attention we are no longer a Tiger crew but infantry and tell them to pray to God we don't bump into Major Trun, that Moron has got enough killed already giving it all for the 'Fatherland'. If you had stayed away from that ditch this wouldn't of happened." As infantry the Tiger crew traded an 88mm gun and two machine-guns for a schemeisser and some mausers. Later they ran into a Sherman and had to 'High-tail' out of its view before being casulties. When night fell they worked their way back to the Tiger to find the Allied Engineers had damaged it beyond repair. So infantry they would be until captured near Saramanda with a few Italians as Shermans led the charge. Just 1 Tiger there would have made the difference and Saramanda would have at least had been a battle, without Tigers the battle was a 'Lost Cause'.
