Major,

I am transferring you to East Front to help out our Soviet Allies. I know that you are the right man for the job with your innovative tactics that you developed for combat in the snow. You will be leading up the American Expedition Force (AEF). You will be posted on the East Front indefinately. You will be getting access to all of the best equipment, though it may not be in the quantities that you desire or need.

This is Commander Zhukov. He will be your commander from now on. Commander Zhukov, why don't you take over?

[Zhukov shakes your hand and starts to speak.] Very well. Let me fill you in.

As you must surely know, the German Army Group Center has made significant progress against us. Their lead elements of are in our suburbs. Given everything that has happened so far to our forces, I am sure that they are confident that they will be able to take Moscow and win the war. In some ways, they have ample reason to be. But this time, I think that it is our turn to turn the tables. You have several advantages of which you are no doubt well aware: their forces, while still very strong, are facing a level of attrition that they are not used to. The difference in our rail guages has hampered their efforts as well. And our Russian winter is always our greatest ally.

All is in your hands to spring the trap and sever their lines of communication back to the West. Do that and also destroy their lead elements, and victory is ours.

If you don't, then your fate, and probably mine as well will be severe. You know that Stalin is always ready to tell us that we have been negligent and purge us. It seems so recent that General Pavlov and General Korobkov were with us.

Anyway, good luck to you. I've released some KV-1s and T-34s for your use. All are armed with the 76 mm gun you've seen in the BT-7s and which can penetrate 7 centimeters of armor. But now we have tanks that have much heavier armor. You'll see how primitive the German tanks look in comparison to ours. I sending you some of our brave Cossack cavalry as well. Make judicious use of them.
