Haven't you heard? Was said to you "Analitics in GHQ said you should try to win in one day (turn) fighting on the ground". Nobody's said it should be first day (turn) at all. You could try to manouver the fleet and hunt turkish vessels before, but not too long. Wasn't it so clear and obvious? And one detail... keeping your own ships out of the enemy's artillery or anti-ship systems range. Headquarter's specialists arranged strategic simulations. It seems that if you wouldn't dare to finish capturing the Cyprus in one day (turn) ground attack, you could lose 20-30 % state of your units. Better to take a risk!
