Fight for Leningrad
November 1, 1941

At the end of September 1941 parachute units were directed to ground combat on the eastern front. In the area around Leningrad, the soldiers of these units were directed to the most difficult sections of the front, and they were thoughtlessly divided, so they could not show their combat value. After nearly a month of fighting, in October, General Petersen gathered scattered units of the 7th Division and planted the front line over the Newa.

Operational tasks:
- South of Leningrad and further along the River Newa, the front line extends. Bolshevik attack in Tychwina area indicates that the enemy will try to unlock the city. Our task is to stop the attempt to break.
