Gospodin General-Major, the maneuver you had been called upon to perform had exposed the Russian 8th Army's southern flank to a skillful counterattack by Borojevic's 3rd Army.  The battle of Limanowa stopped the Russian offensive campaign of 1914 - not to be resumed again for two years - and marked Russia's farthest territorial gain in the war.  The significance of the battle to Austria-Hungary was that it was the last successful offensive action undertaken wholly by Austrian troops under supreme Austrian command.
